This series consists of a volume containing transcribed copies and some original correspondence from the Board of Trade, London regarding reports on and inspections of ships' engines and boilers constructed for steamships registered in New South Wales. The correspondence includes detailed specifications of the machinery, including steam launches, harbour ferries and coastal traders. Most of the specifications are transcripts of those provided by the British manufacturers of the machinery.
