Genome-wide identification of insecticide resistant genes in the smaller tea tortrix, Adoxophyes honmai

The smaller tea totrix, Adoxophyes honmai, is one of the major insect pests of tea plant. Recently, A. honmai has developed a high resistance to diacylhydrazine analog insect growth regulators and diamide insecticides. The goals of this project are to identify genes responsible for these resistances by genome-wide gene analysis and clarify the mechanisms of resistance. We also aim to isolate DNA markers which are usable for the development of molecular diagnosis methods which enables simple, rapid and precise monitoring of the development of resistance. This study will facilitate establishing a better management system to prevent or largely delay the development of insecticide resistance in A. honmai.
