Oxidative damage is known to alter the function of macromolecules, affecting several biological processes. Nevertheless, the biological effects of this kind of damage on RNA are largely known, in part due to our ignorance on the exact sites of damage. In order to gain a better description on the sites of RNA damage we have adapted previous methods used to immuno purify oxidized RNA to deep-sequencing technologies. Data provided here correspond to immuno purification of oxidized RNA from Escherichia coli K12 MG1655 cultured in control or oxidative stress conditions. Data aligned against the sequence of operon A for rRNA, showed aproximate sites of oxidation on the 23S rRNA.
