Evaluating Genetic Diversity of Eastern Filbert Blight Resistant European Hazelnut (Corylus avellana) Germplasm Using a Genotyping-by-Sequencing Approach

The purpose of this study is to investigate the genetic diversity of European hazelnut using next-generation sequencing (NGS) information in the form of Illumina HiSeq reads. Diversity of European diversity has been evaluated previously, but this study includes additional accessions and is the first study to use NGS. The results of this study will help breeders better understand the relatedness of different accessions from across the world and will therefore help make more informed crosses moving forward.
