Total assets and liabilities reported by MMFs in Portugal Q1 2018-Q2 2024

In Portugal, the total assets and liabilities reported by money market funds (MMFs) experienced fluctuations throughout the years. During the first quarter of 2018, MMFs accounted for 399 million euros in their balance sheets as total assets and liabilities. This figure decreased until the fourth quarter of 2020, when it rose to 425 million euros. After further falls, 2024 recorded the highest increase of the period considered, namely to 1.06 billion euros in the second quarter.
