Repeated hot-dry extremes reshape vegetation risk and ecological priorities in China
收藏资源简介:
This repository provides the reproducibility materials accompanying the manuscript “Repeated hot-dry extremes reshape vegetation risk and ecological priorities in China” by Xueyang Wang and Wenling Liu. The study investigates how compound hot-dry (HotDry) extremes and their temporal recurrence are associated with vegetation loss across China during 2001–2023, and how future changes in compound-event exposure may affect ecological risk screening. Combining satellite vegetation observations, gridded climate data, and projections from five CMIP6 climate models, the analysis examines vegetation-loss responses, recurrence sequences, future event frequency and spacing, and spatial heterogeneity in historical vegetation sensitivity. The reproducibility package is intended to support the principal analyses and supplementary assessments reported in the manuscript, including historical HotDry classifications, vegetation-loss estimation, recurrence-sequence comparisons, future climate projections, fixed-marginal permutation analyses, and sensitivity-weighted ecological risk screening. The materials comprise processed analytical inputs, derived results, and computational code used in the study. The original third-party datasets remain subject to their respective data providers' access conditions and licensing requirements. Information on data sources, processing procedures, and analytical methods is provided in the accompanying documentation and manuscript. These materials are made available to facilitate transparency, reproducibility, and further research on compound climate extremes, vegetation responses, and ecological risk assessment.
