*Preamplification was performed at 98°C for 2 minutes, then followed by 10 cycles at 98°C for 30 seconds and 60°C for 1 minute 30 seconds for 10 cycles using degenerate primers 8F-1492R targetting the bacterial 16S ribosomal gene. **In comparison to average Lactobacillus proportions obtained from vaginal swab (n = 8) without pre amplification.
