Group B Streptococcus is known to colonize the female reproductive and causes adverse pregnancy outcomes and neonatal disease. DNA methylation is a common mechanism for both phage defense and transcriptional regulation. Here, we use RNA Seq and whole genome bisulfite sequencing to assess gene expression and the 5mC methylation state of wildtype CJB111 and a DNA cytosine methyltransferase (dcm, locus tag: ID870_06215) deficient mutant.
