NIWA Historic Weather Events (Prototype)

This is a catalog of major weather events in New Zealand over the last 200 years. The information has been collated from newspaper reports, journals, books and databases kindly provided by various organisations and individuals. For each event the following was identifed; the regions affected, the hazards types associated with the event and the resulting impacts The events are separated on individual coordinates, so a weather event may have several points as it was reported for different days and locations. Data source: https://hwe.niwa.co.nz/ (The XML Database behind the HWE is being converted to a feature layer via FME and hosted in ArcGIS Online).
