Hunter Wetland Storm Recovery and Erosion Control – Stage 2

This project will maintain stage one works. In addition, it will:
(i) install erosion control measures and continue erosion control revegetation (including through log positioning);
(ii) continue spreading heavier footpath base aggregate over 500m of path;
(iii) shore up fence footings to build resilience in storms, continue weed control along the fence to buffer it and trim native vegetation branches that are threatening fences;
(iv) remove fallen trees from near paths and in bush to avoid risk to people and use the fallen trees to create habitat for wildlife;
(v) revegetating and regenerating areas damaged by the storm; and
(vi) repairing damaged stormwater drains by replacing rocks that were displaced and fixing a 2m long walking bridge that was destroyed.
