资源简介:
To support floodplain forest research and management actions on the Upper Mississippi River System (UMRS), areas of forest loss, gain and persistence at least 0.1 hectare in size from 2010 to 2020 were mapped and analyzed. This forest cover transition data will allow researchers the ability to examine rates and patterns of forest cover loss, gain, and persistence and compare multiple underlying physical characteristics of each category to help determine possible cause for change. These characteristics include those related to polygon shape, area and complexity, proximity, forest density, cover type of historically forested areas and historic cover type of areas that are newly forested, adjacent land cover types, canopy density and flood inundation. This data set is based upon the 2010/2011 and 2020 land cover/land use data developed by the Upper Mississippi River Restoration Program Long Term Resource Monitoring element.
