This study was conducted to determine the effects of nutraceuticals-based diet on the composition of intestinal microbiota of common carp (Cyprinus carpio). Acclimatized animals were divided randomly into five experimental groups. BD fish received basal diet whilst further four treatment groups received different herbal extracts based dietary supplementations; 1% Hungarian sour cherry extract (ANTH), 1% synbiotics/probiotic blend (SYN), 1% hungarian red-sweet pepper seed (fOS), and 1% red-sweet pepper pulp extracts (CAR). Gut samples were collected at day 1, 14, 28 and 42. To track changes in composition and diversity of the intestinal tract microbiota 16S V3-V4 rRNA gene based metagenomic sequencing was performed on Illumina MiSeq platform.
