Danish Gallup Omnibus Data 1986, Omnibus no. 01

Danish Gallup Omnibus Data 1986 comprises 20 omnibus surveys carried out by the Danish Gallup Institute in 1986. # #Each survey contains a number of demographic variables common to all the surveys of that year, as well as a number of questions dealing with topical events. # #The questions common to all 1986 omnibuses are: #The respondent's sex, age and marital status; size of the household, number of adults (persons aged 15 or more) and children, and age of the children; the respondent's position in the household; the respondent's education, occupational status, public or private employment and income; education, occupational status and public or private employment of the head of the household; gross household income; the housewife's occupational status; housing conditions and ownership of the dwelling as well as geographical location and degree of urbanization; which party the respondent voted for at the last general election; and which party the respondent would vote for at a general election on the day after the interview. # #The special questions in this omnibus deal with the following issues: # #Assessment of the performance of the Government; attitude to Denmark's membership of NATO; the importance of this membership; important political problems to be solved (unemployment, economic problems, pollution, social problems, AIDS); back trouble and spinal disorder (e.g. lumbago); medical treatment for these troubles; correlation between work and back troubles; hospital admission due to back troubles; the crisis of the Danish shipyards resulting in a number of dismissals; attitude to state subsidies to shipyards; competitive power of the Danish shipyards; the EC agreements which should prevent state subsidies to the shipyards; knowledge of AIDS (how is AIDS contracted; will it spread to other groups than homosexual men; will AIDS become widespread; can AIDS be cured; is AIDS spread in other physical ways than by sexual contact); the use of condoms as effective protection against AIDS; the pamphlet on AIDS; the TV hearing on AIDS; attitude to whether condoms should be freely available; the cost of the treatment of AIDS patients; for or against Danish membership of the EC at a hypothetical referendum today; attitude to a withdrawal from the EC; the EC referendum 1986 on the so-called EC package which means an extension of the co-operation within the Community; the impact of this package on the structure of the Community and on Denmark's sovereignty and independence; the impact on Danish economy in case of a 'No' at the coming referendum; and voting intention at the coming EC referendum
