A strain TF-1 capable of utilizing cyproconazole (CZ) as the sole carbon and nitrogen source was isolated from the activated sludge of a domesticated sewage treatment plant. The strain was identified as Halalkalibacterium halodurans by morphological observation, physiological and biochemical experiments, 16S rRNA gene sequencing and phylogenetic tree analysis. It was named Halalkalibacterium halodurans strain TF-1.
