Number of accesses to fixed-line internet in Portugal 2020-2023, by type

In Portugal, optical fiber was the most popular fixed broadband internet access type in 2023, counting more than three million accesses. Cable modem accesses followed, with almost 1.2 million. The type of fixed broadband access with the highest variation in the number of accesses, when compared to 2022, was ADSL, which decreased from 178,000 to 128,000 accesses.
