Weld bead dimensions as a function of process parameters in laser welding of thin copper and aluminum sheets in lap configuration

This database explores a wide range of process parameters concerning laser welding of aluminum and copper 0.3 mm thick foils in lap configuration. In particular, this application involves a fiber laser with a 80 micron spot. Given different values of laser power and welding speed, the results are expressed in terms of weld bead width at the face of the weld bead, weld bead width at the interface between the two sheets and bead penetration depth in the lower sheet. Every trial was repeated three times to evaluate scattering and repeatability.
