PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a timber strengthening method capable of easily improving absolute strength of timber by impregnating it with solution. SOLUTION: A timber strengthening method comprises: a step of immersing timber 10 in a solution 20 including calcium hydroxide; a step of taking out the timber 10 out of the solution 20 after impregnating the inside of the timber 10 with the solution; and a step of heating and drying the taken-out timber 10 in gas including carbon dioxide.
