色差 ▽E 是利用均匀颜色空间的三维空间概念,可以通过公式计算两个颜色在知觉上的颜色差异,▽E范围在0-0.25,表示颜色差异非常小,理想匹配;▽E范围在0.25-0.5,表示颜色有微小色差,可接受匹配;▽E范围在0.5-1.0,表示颜色有一定色差,在一些应用中可以接受;▽E范围在1.0以上,表示颜色相差比较大,塑料行业不接受;通过▽E可以评价产品颜色质量,确保客户的颜色(标准样)和我们生产的颜色(测试样),颜色趋于无限接近(一般色差▽E≦0.5)。在Lab色差空间,模拟 CIE 标准光源 D65 的相对光谱辐照度的光源,输入标准样L,a,b的值,由配色工程师对生产的产品进行打样测试,得到测试样L,a,b的值。然后按照公式:(L标准色-L测量色)2+(a标准色-a测量色)2+(b标准色-b测量色)2,得到的和进行开方。当▽L为正值时说明被测样品比标准样品偏亮,当为负值是则偏暗。▽a为正值时则比被测颜色偏红(,▽Δa为负值时则是偏绿少红。▽b为正值时则是偏黄少蓝,当▽b为负值时则是偏蓝少黄。▽E越小,样品的颜色和标准色越接近。
Color difference ▽E, based on the 3-dimensional spatial concept of uniform color spaces, is a metric for calculating the perceptual color difference between two colors via a standardized formula. A ▽E value ranging from 0 to 0.25 indicates an extremely minimal color difference and an ideal match. When ▽E falls between 0.25 and 0.5, the color difference is minor and the match is acceptable. For ▽E values between 0.5 and 1.0, a noticeable color difference exists that is acceptable in certain applications. When ▽E exceeds 1.0, the color difference is significant and unacceptable in the plastics industry. ▽E is used to evaluate the color quality of products, ensuring that the customer's target color (standard sample) and the color of our manufactured products (test sample) are as close as practically possible, with a general acceptable threshold of ▽E ≤ 0.5.
In the CIE L*a*b* (Lab) color difference space, a light source simulating the relative spectral irradiance of the CIE standard illuminant D65 is employed. The L*, a*, b* values of the standard sample are input, and color matching engineers conduct proofing tests on the produced goods to obtain the L*, a*, b* values of the test sample. The color difference is then calculated by first computing the sum of squared differences: (L*_standard - L*_measured)² + (a*_standard - a*_measured)² + (b*_standard - b*_measured)², followed by taking the square root of this sum to derive ▽E.
When △L* is positive, the tested sample is brighter than the standard sample; when negative, the tested sample is darker. When △a* is positive, the measured color is redder than the standard; when negative, the color is greener (less red). When △b* is positive, the measured color is yellower (with less blue); when negative, the color is bluer (with less yellow). A smaller ▽E value indicates that the color of the tested sample is closer to that of the standard sample.
