Aiming to identify gene expression signatures underlying the pathogenesis of infertility, we performed global gene expression profiling on testis samples in patients with severely impaired and normal spermatogenesis. The study included 20 samples (10 showing obstructive azoospermia and 10 samples showing non obstructive azoospermia). Differential gene expression was measured in relation to the Agilent’s Universal Human Reference RNA and each experimental sample was hybridized against this common reference sample.
