Supplementary Table S1 provides an excel sheet for the calculation of disequilibrium ∆47 and ∆48 bias that can be introduced by two individual processes: reaction-induced bicarbonate removal (sheet “dehydration/dehydroxylation”) and diffusion-driven CO2 degassing (sheet “diffusional loss”). Supplementary Table S2 provides bulk stable and clumped isotope data for all samples, pooled over bleached and non-bleached aliquots of a given sample. Supplementary Table S3 provides bulk stable and clumped isotope data for all samples, distinguishing between bleached and non-bleached aliquots of a given sample.
