A detailed analysis of the autumn turnover period was performed in Lake Rotsee, which is a eutrophic seasonally stratified lake in Central Switzerland. Amplicon sequencing of 16S rRNA and pmoA genes and 16S rRNA and pmoA mRNA (transcribed to cDNA) was used to investigate the development of the methanotroph assemblage.
