Contagious Antibiotic Resistance: Plasmid Transfer Among Bacterial Residents of the Zebrafish Gut

To gain insight into the network of antibiotic resistance sharing in the gut microbiome, we investigated the transferability of the MDR plasmid pB10::gfp among the culturable bacteria of the zebrafish gut microbiome, both through in vitro and in vivo studies. The 16S rDNA sequencing data made available here represent the gut microbiomes of zebrafish reared in water containing tetracycline for 22 days and were fed dried food mixed with plasmid-containing (treated) or plasmid-free (untreated) E. coli AT1036 for 20 days.
