Osteoarthritis (OA) can cause stiffness and chronic pain, which can develop into severe disability and affect patients' health and quality of life. The spontaneous osteoarthritis in rhesus macaque is similar to osteoarthritis in human. The rhesus macaque maintains an upright body, and its bones have very similar biomechanical properties to humans. So we collected colonic contents of the rhesus macaque with spontaneous osteoarthritis for intestinal microbiota analysis.
