Colonizing and infecting carbapenem-resistant Klebsiella pneumoniae isolate pairs

Carbapenem-resistant Klebsiella pneumoniae (CRKp) has become a critical threat to public health due to the dearth of therapeutic option, causing colonization intestinally and infections parenterally. However, the association between colonization and infection among paediatric patients is limited. This study aimed at investigating the molecular and phenotypic characteristics of colonizing and corresponding infecting CRKp strains.
