Dorrigo National Park: World Heritage Area Ecological Restoration Project 1

Through this project the Green Army will implement ecological restoration works, including control of serious weed threats and improving the condition of the critically endangered ecological community, Lowland Rainforest of Subtropical Australia (EPBC Act), in World Heritage listed Dorrigo National Park. The Team will work with NSW National Parks and Wildlife Service and volunteers to systematically control invasive weeds in rainforest and wet schlerophyll vegetation. This will improve the condition of native vegetation (including habitat for threatened species) and track maintenance will protect ecosystems from human impacts. Community environmental awareness and participation in environmental conservation will be increased through a field day and promotion in the local media.
