Development of a whole exome sequencing kit for porcine research

DNA was obtained from 93 pigs from 12 porcine breeds and biopsies (n=5) of an Oncopig hepatocellular carcinoma (HCC) tumor. Whole exome libraries were sequenced on a NovaSeq 6000 and aligned to the pig reference genome (Sscrofa11.1). Statistics were quantified to quantify the efficacy of the kit. For both breed and tumor analysis, the functional impact of identified single nucleotide variants and insertion and deletions on subsequent genes and relevant pathways were analyzed.
