Calendar of natural cycles - Shoalhaven coastal region

The temporal density of species occurrence (observation) records in most parts of Australia is very sparse and this makes it difficult to monitor fluctuations and long-term changes in species populations over time. This project involves Conjola Jerrawangala Landcare and the surrounding community working together to intensively record and build up a comprehensive on-going database of temporally dense species sighting records within the region of the south coast of NSW.

Conjola Jerrawangala Landcare will also work with the Atlas of Living Australia to develop calendar-based visualisation models to represent this information in interesting, useful and meaningful ways. This will increase the range of practical application of the ALA and provide functional templates for replication as projects by communities in other geographical areas across Australia.
