Replication files for settlement reclassification and urban measurement in Uzbekistan

Replication files for the manuscript "Administrative reclassification and the measurement of urbanization: Multi-source evidence from 965 settlements in Uzbekistan". The package contains the derived settlement- and district-level datasets and the Python scripts that reproduce the three-class GHS-SMOD point-trajectory classification of 750 geocoded settlements, the built-up threshold scenarios and measurement-conflict cases, the rule-based representative settlements, the four pre-registered district models with exact wild-cluster bootstrap inference, and Figures 1 and 5 of the manuscript. Inputs derived from public sources (the legal roster of Cabinet of Ministers Resolution No. 68 of 2009; GeoNames and OpenStreetMap gazetteers; WorldPop; harmonized nighttime lights; World Settlement Footprint Evolution; GHSL R2023A; the SIAT district enterprise registry) are included with source and license documentation. All outputs regenerate byte-identically from the included scripts. Version 1 corresponds to an earlier draft of the analysis and is retained in the version history.
