Liberation of ventilated adult patients in public critical care units: An intervention study

An educational intervention that was developed based on three existing recommendations from the evidence-based guidelines on ventilator liberation was implemented and its effect was evaluated. Findings showed respondents lacked knowledge of ventilation liberation practices, and knowledge can be improved through educational intervention methods like printed copies, lectures, reminders, and informal monitoring visits. Although the authors recommend more studies using different approaches in a critical care unit context.
