Monthly zonal-mean time series of stratospheric mean age of air (AoA) derived from ACE-FTS versions 3.6 and 5.2 using SF6 and multiple long-lived trace gases

Datasets used in the upcoming publication “Climatology and trends in stratospheric mean age of air from correlations of multiple trace gases measured by ACE-FTS”. The following files are provided: Dataset version 5.2: “ace_fts_v5p2_monthly_zonal_mean_aoa_time_series.nc” Dataset version 3.6: “ace_fts_v3p6_monthly_zonal_mean_aoa_time_series.nc” The files contain monthly zonal-mean AoA estimates derived from SF$_6$ only (“SF6_only”) and from a multi-tracer approach (“multi_tracer”) combining SF$_6$ with five long-lived trace gases: N$_2$O, CH$_4$, CFC-11, CFC-12, and HCFC-22. In addition, AoA estimates from an ERA5-driven CLaMS simulation are included.
