Sea-level rise in a coastal marsh: linking increasing tidal inundation, decreasing soil strength and increasing pond expansion - dataset
收藏资源简介:
This dataset contains the results from a fieldstudy in the Blackwater marshes, in Maryland, USA, supporting the paper 'Sea-level rise in a coastal marsh: linking increasing tidal inundation, decreasing soil strength and increasing pond expansion', submitted to Biogeoscience in 2025. The dataset is organised in 6 tabs: Sediment and site properties: results for carbon matter (LOI, %), bulk density (g/cm³) and water content (%) of the sediment samples and hydroperiod (%) and elevation for the sites Belowground biomass: results of the belowground biomass samples (g/cm³) and the weight of all seperate root types. Shear vane marsh: Shear vane measurements (10³ N/m²) of the vegetated marsh at the surface and below the rooting zone. Shear vane ponds: Shear vane measurements (10³ N/m²) of the pond bottom sediment. Penetrologger marsh: Average penetrologger strength (N/m²) of the vegetated marsh along 80 cm depth profiles. Penetrologger ponds: Average penetrologger strength (N/m²) of the pond bottom sediment along 80 cm depth profiles.
