Whole Genome Sequences of Mycobacterium avium subsp. paratuberculosis Cattle Isolates from Uganda

The dataset contains whole genome sequences of four Mycobacterium avium subspecies paratuberculosis isolates from cattle in Uganda. The mycobacteria were isolated from faeces of cattle from four different districts in Uganda. The bacterial culutres were grown on Herrold's Egg York media containing Amphotericin B, Vancomycin and Nalidixic acid with Mycobactin J. DNA was extracted from the pure cultures grown in Middlebrook 7H9 broth supplemented with Mycobactin J using the Cetyltrimethylammonium bromide (CTAB) method and were whole genome sequenced by Pacific Biosciences (PacBio®).
