In 2024, almost all adults from the baby boomer generation preferred using live phone conversations when it came to customer care contact in the United States. The most popular channel for Gen Z, Gen X, and millennials was by email. Only 19 percent of baby boomers stated they used social media as their preferred customer care contact channel.
