资源简介:
Chronic kidney disease (CKD) is a condition where the kidneys don't work as well as they should. It affects about 10% of the global population, which means millions of people worldwide. CKD can lead to serious health problems, including heart disease and premature death. Unfortunately, many people with CKD do not receive enough treatment to prevent heart disease, which is common in this group.
Our research aims to test and improve a tool called PREVENT, which helps people understand their risk of heart disease. This tool was created using health data from the United States, including information on kidney function and kidney damage. It could be helpful for people worldwide who have CKD. However, the tool has not yet been tested outside of the United States or in people from clinical trials. By testing PREVENT in different populations, we hope to improve the tool and help doctors better treat people with CKD, reducing the risk of heart disease and saving lives.
We request access to three clinical trials: CARMELINA, CAROLINA, and ONTARGET, to test how the PREVENT risk tool performs in these populations. We will also evaluate PREVENT risk tool in multiple other populations throughout Europe, South America, Australia, and Asia.
