Validating biogeographical theory for protists: Patterns of diversity and distribution in Europe

Here we investigated diversity and distribution patterns of protist freshwater communities on European scale (256 freshwater lakes) in the light of the well-studied post-glacial distribution patterns of macroorganisms based on amplicon sequencing data (V9 region of the 18S SSU of the rDNA). This BioProjekt included 24 samples of the Balkan region we used in addition to previous samples from BioProject PRJNA414052.
