Molecular mechanisms underlying niche partitioning between subcluster 5.1 and subcluster 5.2 Synechococcus in estuaries

Marine Synechococcus (cluster 5) is ubiquitously distributed pico-cyanobacteria and one of the most important primary producers on earth. The goals of this study is to unvail ecotypes of this genus have a complex ecological distribution and the genetic basis of niche partitioning.
