GT RGS spectra are required to distinguish two or threetemperature plasmasfrom true multiphase media in cooling flow clusters. We propose to observe twovery massive cooling flows at redshift about onequarter sufficiently distantso that the highly peaked cooling flow region inside 200 kpc appearsapproximately pointlike to the XMM mirrors. 50 ksec XMM exposures of theseobjects yield >1520 line photons for 1525 features,thus enabling the thermalstructure to be disentangled.
