NRS-2641 | Letters and memoranda sent concerning salary augmentations [Council of Education]

In May 1873, in order "to encourage and assist the Teachers in its service to make some provision for their old age, and for their dependent families", the Council resolved to contribute an amount, not exceeding two and one half per cent of income received from salary and fees, to that paid by an employee upon any annuity, insurance policy, government security, savings bank deposit, or any other form of approved security. Included are letters and memoranda sent by the Council to acknowledge receipt of assurance policies and guarantee forms, forward information concerning the operation of the scheme, and reply to applications to withdraw moneys deposited and/or substitute policies.
