Images and GIS from a Watching Brief and Historic Building Recording at Collaton Park, Newton Ferrers, Devon, 2022 and 2024

This collection consists of images and GIS data from a historic building recording and watching brief by Cotswold Archaeology. Work occurred at Collaton Park, Newton Ferrers, Devon, in 2022 and 2024.Thie rapid photographic and written historic buildings record was carried out in September 2022. RAF Collaton Park began as Number 13 Balloon Centre in 1939. RAF occupancy of the site ended c. 1975, by which time all buildings associated with military functions had been cleared. There are no designated heritage assets within the site. The archaeological monitoring and recording was conducted in April to June 2024. The project recorded widespread modern truncation at the site. Localised clusters of fragmentary concrete foundations associated with former RAF Collaton Cross buildings were recorded.
