Solar Energy Datasets from DKA Solar Centre

There are four solar energy datasets contained available here: Alice Springs and Yulara Solar System. Desert Knowledge Australia Solar Centre (DKASC) Alice Springs is a giant solar energy power station located in the Alice Springs desert that contains PV technologies of different types, ages, makes, models, and configurations. Operating since 2008, Alice offers a vast database for researchers. This work aims to predict the daily power one step ahead using as predictors the following attributes: humidity [%], diffuse radiation [W/m²], radiation [W/m²], diffuse tilted [W/m²], accumulated energy [kWh], rainfall [mm], wind direction [º], temperature [°], radiation global [W/m²], tilted [W/m²], energy [kWh], global radiation [W/m²], power [kW], and the current [A]. On the other hand, the Yulara Solar System, installed in 2014, is located near Yulara and operates a 1.8 MW solar PV plant. Two datasets from Yulara are implemented to predict the daily power one step ahead using as predictors: air pressure [not specified], wind direction [º], rainfall [mm], hail [not specified], wind speed [m/s], accumulated energy [kWh], max wind speed [m/s], pyranometer [not specified], global radiation [W/m²], temperature [ºC], temperature probe 1 [ºC], temperature probe 2 [ºC], energy [kWh], power [kW], and the current [A]. More information about these attributes can be found on the website. The PV panels Yulara 1 and 5 were chosen to perform the simulations. The initial dataset contained information with an interval of 5 minutes. Pre-processing was implemented to remove null values and convert the information to daily values. As the plant uses solar panels with different characteristics, the panels are identified by numbers.
