Summary of Spring Sand and Dust Weather Events in China for 2005, 2010, 2015, and 2020

This dataset is derived from the Sand and Dust Weather Almanac series, compiled by the China Meteorological Administration, and published by China Meteorological Press (2007–2023). The definition of severe dust storm, dust storm, and blowing dust events are as follows, Severe dust storm: Horizontal visibility <500 m due to extreme dust suspension by intense winds; Dust storm: Horizontal visibility <1 km from large amounts of dust raised by strong winds; Blowing dust: Horizontal visibility 1–10 km from ground dust lifted by wind, causing moderate turbidity.
