资源简介:
This series contains two types of registers, titled 'Auger Register(s)' and 'Diamond Drill Register(s)' and document a weekly summary of boring operations undertaken with such drills. Augers are spiral tools, which in this context, were used to dig holes, within the earth. Entries were made in these registers within folios that relate to an auger or diamond drill used on specific boring sites. Entries identify the type of boring/drilling location. Weekly summary detail includes the week, depth reached at the end of the week, depth bored during that week, thickness of strata and a description of the strata. There are at least two different sequences of volume sin this series. The first are auger registers, the first of which documents work undertaken with 'Tiffin Water Augers'. (It is believed that Tiffin is most likely a brand name.) The remaining auger registers were numbered by the agency as Volumes 2 and 3. (It is unclear whether the volume of Tiffin augers is volume 1.) Volume 2 records detail for both water and hand augers whilst Volume 3 records just hand augers. The second sequence consists of diamond drill registers which were numbered by the recording agency as Volumes 2 - 5. Entries within each volume are arranged initially by location and then chronologically. This series was originally identified and documented by a service provider. An evaluation of the supplied documentation during 2025 resulted in a minor amendment of the series title and amendments to this series registration. An examination of the series revealed that the series that it did not include a `Boring Averages Register' as originally documented. It is understood that this register was subsequently transferred to PROV as VPRS 7162.
