Brassica rapa subsp. rapa Transcriptome or Gene expression

Brassica rapa L. is a wintering herbaceous plant, the main cultivation type of rapeseed in China, and is grown in both northern and southern regions. However, the extreme low temperatures in winter less than Zero degree Celsius and chilling Zero to fifteen degree Celsius in spring have a detrimental effect on the productivity, development, and quality of crops in northern regions. Hence, it is imperative to identify the robust genes and metabolites associated with subzero temperature tolerance in winter rapeseed and thereafter boost its ability to withstand subzero temperatures to guarantee a secure overwintering season in northern regions. Our study aims to evaluate large-scale transcriptome and metabolomic changes in rapeseed by identifying potential genes, metabolites, metabolic pathways, and their interactions in response to subzero temperature tolerance following CA.
