Multi-source geoenvironmental dataset for Palaeolithic landscape characterisation, Nagpur-Chandrapur Districts, Wainganga-Wardha Basin, Central India

This dataset supports the geoenvironmental analysis presented in Begade (2026), "Reading the Palaeolithic Landscape: A Multi-Source Geoenvironmental Approach to Site Characterisation in the Deccan Trap Region of Central India Using GIS and Remote Sensing," in Mapping the Past: GIS and Remote Sensing in Landscape Archaeology (Springer Nature). The dataset comprises 197 georeferenced Palaeolithic sites (Lower, Middle, and Upper Palaeolithic) in the Nagpur and Chandrapur Districts of the Wainganga-Wardha Basin, Vidarbha, Central India, integrated with multi-source geoenvironmental data layers including Sentinel-2A multispectral imagery, GSI geochemistry (stream sediment, soil horizon, soil regolith), structural geological features (faults, dykes, lineaments, shear zones), pedogenic properties, CGWB borehole data, and CHELSA TraCE21k palaeoclimate reconstructions.
