资源简介:

Supplementary Datasets for manuscript: "Accurate hurricane wind structure reduces bias in coastal flood and damage estimates" 1. Wind Speed Error Analysis Dataset (wind_speed_errors.zip) This dataset contains a comprehensive analysis of wind speed prediction errors across 12 major historical hurricane events, comparing observed wind speeds at NOAA gauge locations with model estimates from two atmospheric forcing datasets: ERA5 reanalysis and GAHM parametric model. The compressed archive includes CSV files with error metrics and gauge location data, a Python script for error calculation and visualization, and best track files for all 12 hurricane events used in the analysis. 2. Wind Forcing Datasets (Wind_Forcing_Datasets.zip) This dataset contains atmospheric forcing data for Hurricane Ian (2022) in WRF (Weather Research and Forecasting) format, representing the various wind field datasets used to drive the FVCOM hydrodynamic simulations. The archive includes wind forcing data from multiple atmospheric sources: ERA5 reanalysis, GAHM parametric model, CFSR reanalysis, and Holland (2010) parametric model. 3. Modified GAHM Wind Forcing Dataset (GAHM_IAN_2022_modified_wind.zip) This dataset contains modified wind forcing fields for Hurricane Ian (2022) constructed from best track data using the GAHM parametric model. The archive includes four distinct wind field scenarios: two files with wind intensity modified by 25% and 50% respectively, and two files with radius of maximum wind (Rmax) modified by 25% and 50% respectively (the baseline GAHM wind field is provided separately in the Wind_Forcing_Datasets.zip archive). 4. Maximum Water Surface Elevation from Hurricane Ian FVCOM Simulations (max_eta_all_models.nc) This dataset contains maximum water surface elevation (eta) values from FVCOM (Finite Volume Community Ocean Model) simulations of Hurricane Ian's impact on the west coast of Florida. The netCDF file includes maximum water levels computed across six different wind forcing models: Holland (2010), GAHM, CFSR, ERA5, ERA5-OWI, and ERA5-OWI r25. Each model represents different atmospheric forcing datasets applied to the same FVCOM mesh. The dataset is provided on an unstructured triangular grid and includes supplementary grid information (longitude, latitude, and bathymetric depth) for each computational node.
