With the discovery of the therapeutic activity of peptides, they have emerged as a promising class of anticancer drugs due to their specific targeting ability, low toxicity, and high selectivity. Particularly, as peptide-drug conjugates enter the clinical stage, the conjugation of targeting peptides with traditional chemotherapeutic agents or cytotoxic drugs will become a new direction for cancer therapy. To facilitate the drug development of cancer therapeutic peptides, we constructed DCTPep, a novel, open-access and comprehensive cancer therapeutic peptide database. In addition to traditional anticancer peptides (ACPs), the peptide library also includes peptides associated with targeted cancer therapy. These data were manually collected from published research articles, patents, and other protein or peptide databases. The drug library data covers clinical studies and/or approved peptide drugs related to cancer therapy, which are mainly sourced from the official portals of drug regulatory authorities and organizations across various countries and regions. DCTPep currently contains a total of 6215 entries, and we believe that DCTPep will make contributions to the future design and screening of cancer therapeutic peptides.
