资源简介:
Two pollen and one macrofloral sample were examined from the fill of a hearth within a deep rockshelter, site 24CB1862, in southern Montana. Sediment from beneath a rock adjacent to the hearth also was examined for pollen. This hearth represents the southern occupation in the rockshelter. It was found about 5 cm below the surface and widely scattered over a two meter area with abundant charcoal, burned sand, and fire-cracked rock present. The northern occupation consists of a walled structure with wooden beam walls; however, it had been looted and contains almost no intact cultural deposits. Pollen and macrofloral analyses will be used to provide information concerning plant resources available to and utilized by the rockshelter occupants.
