Pan-Guiana shoreline position 1988 - 2023

Dataset of the relative position of the entire Guiana coastline, Northern South America, between the Amazon and Orinico Rivers 1988 - 2023. 

Digital Shoreline Analysis System (DSAS) was used to determine relative shoreline position and rates of net and absolution shoreline change every year at alongshore intervals of 200m. This results in more than 5500 transects of shoreline position. 

All shoreline were derived from applying a normalised difference vegetation index to Landsat 5,7 and 8 multispectral satellite data. An image was obtained as close as possible to June 1st each year. Where data did not exist in one year linear temporal interpolation was used.
