Forests support global crop supply through atmospheric moisture transport

Codes and data used in a submitted article titled "Forests supply global crop supply through atmospheric moisture transport". The article is currently in a peer-review process. In this study, we aim to understand the dependence of global crop production and export on the provision of precipitation from upwind forests within and across countries. We mapped the nationally-recycled and transboundary moisture flows from forested to downwind crop-producing and -exporting countries and we assessed the circularity and cascade between moisture and traded crop flows across countries.
