This series comprises various publications produced by Shortland County Council and its successor Shortland Electricity.The records include a booklet issued by the Council in 1959 to illustrate points of interest and the industrial, commercial and rural activities of its district; a souvenir booklet issued to commemorate the Council's tenth anniversary on 18 September 1967, which contains a history of electricity supply in Newcastle; and numbers 1 to 11 of the newsletter 'Insight' which was issued between August 1991 and October 1995, directed at the organisation's commercial and industrial customers. Issues 10 and 11 of 'Insight' were produced under Shortland Electricity's new trading name, Orion Energy.
